Why have you come to the UK to study?
I think the UK education system is the best in the world. In China we have too many students in a class, but at Sherborne International there are only 6-7 students per class. This allows the teacher to really focus on our individual needs and to answer all our questions.
Have you enjoyed your time at Sherborne International so far?
I started by doing the summer school in 2017 to help me prepare for the one-year GCSE, so I’ve now been here about 9 months. I have really enjoyed my time here for a number of reasons.
Firstly, the teachers are really friendly and helpful and it’s been great making friends with students from lots of different nationalities and cultures. I also really enjoy all the sports and activities that we do in our free time and the food is fantastic!
In what areas has Sherborne International helped you improve?
My English has become far more fluent. I now have a much better understanding of English grammar and can communicate much better with all types of people in different situations. I have also really improved my team-working skills, including in sports such as basketball and netball.
What do you like most about being in England?
I really enjoy the variety between the beautiful countryside around Sherborne and the fabulous English cities with lots of culture that we have been to see on various excursions. This weekend we are going to see Macbeth at the theatre in London!
Where would you like to go next?
I have a place at Epsom College to study in their sixth form. It is a traditional school with a rich history and as most of the students there are English, it will be a good opportunity for me to improve my English further.
What career would you like when you finish education?
I don’t know exactly, but maths is my favourite subject so I will like to follow a career that involves using those skills.
