Dorset Schools Table Tennis Competition – Autumn 2019
Report from Dorset Schools Table Tennis Competition on Tuesday 19 November 2019
On Tuesday 19 November the whole of JX (one of our Junior classes) travelled to Christchurch near Bournemouth to represent Sherborne International in the Dorset Schools table tennis competition.
The boys had been practising in lessons and in all their free time and were desperate to lay some competitive matches.
Their first round match was against a very strong team from Budworth. They caught the boys out before they realised how serious this event was.
Their next match was a much closer event and the boys had settled into their own style of playing. They only lost by 5 sets to 3 to Poole school.
Their final match was against Gillingham school and again some very close sets meant Sherborne International only lost by 5 sets to 3 again.
The team of Niko, Fumi, Kun, Akira and Michael all won at least one set each during the competition.
Hamad travelled with the team for experience. He took control of the score cards to take the pressure off the team who wanted to cheer on their players.
