Outside of study time, during evenings and weekends, there are numerous leisure activities available to keep students active, relaxed and happy.
Students have the opportunity to play a number of sports, have music lessons, join a choir and take part in drama productions. And students who love the outdoors can challenge themselves by taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.
The choice of activities changes from term to term and includes futsal, fitness club, snooker/pool club, cookery and dance.
There are also a number of whole school excursions and trips, supported and supervised by our boarding house staff. These include going to watch local sports teams, ten pin bowling, the cinema or doing some shopping.
Excursions to places of local interest such as Bath and Salisbury often take place on Saturdays during the autumn and spring terms.
Saturday evenings are for relaxation and spending time with friends. Students can watch a film on the big screen in the Greenfield Hall, order a take away or make use of the games consoles, table games and libraries in their boarding houses.
On Sundays, junior students often have the chance to learn crafts, do some cookery or play games, whilst activities for older students include running club, badminton, table tennis and swimming.
Sherborne International music concerts, drama productions and inter-house sports tournaments also take place at weekends throughout the year. Students can attend to watch their friends or take part themselves. They can also attend various events such as concerts at Sherborne Boys and Sherborne Girls schools.
