Intensive English Course (plus subjects) – Easter 2023
Sherborne School is running an Intensive English Course (plus subjects) designed to develop the English language skills of students through classes in English and other school subjects. Perfect for students looking to improve their English, while also providing general academic preparation for British boarding schools.
This course is available as Full Boarding only.
The lessons are lively and interesting and all aspects of the English language are covered. Students become more confident about using English, especially spoken English, as emphasis is placed on clear and assured communication.
Also included in the timetable are subject lessons taught in English including geography, history, science, mathematics, computing, art and drama. These provide interesting variety and increase English vocabulary and language development.
Intensive English Course – key points
- For 11 – 18 year olds
- Very small class sizes (maximum 12 students)
- Attend for one or two weeks
- 27 lessons a week (27 hours)
- One half day local excursion each week
- Highly experienced teaching team
- Self study, free time and sports activities on Sunday and a Saturday full day excursion for students who wish to stay on

- Classes start 09:00am on Monday
- Classes finish 17:00 on Friday
- Students arrive Sunday 2 April 13:00 – 18:00 and depart by 18:00 on Sunday 9th
Week 2: Sunday 9 April to Sunday 16 April
- Classes start 09:00am on Monday
- Classes finish 17:00 on Friday
- Boarding students arrive Sunday 9 April 13:00 – 18:00 and depart by 13:00 on Sunday 16 April

Fees
- Fees per week: £1440 – this includes boarding house accommodation and all meals
- Includes tuition of four lessons (6 hours) each day; testing; learning materials, texts and educational resources; written academic reports and certificate; WiFi; breakfast (from 8am), lunch, morning snacks, dinner and refreshment; evening sports and activities.
- Airport Transfer Service from Heathrow and Gatwick: £150 per student each way
