The Big Draw

SI Students take part in national art event...

On Thursday Juniors, Year 9 and Year 10s took part in a national event known as ‘The Big Draw’. ‘The Big Draw’ is designed to encourage and promote drawing as a vital part of education. The theme this year was ‘Living Lines’, this focused on how drawing can be used in Animation. The Art and Drama department came together to set up a joint project where students created three giant drawings in charcoal, these depicted scenes from ‘Hansel and Gretel’ which will be performed by the school later in the year. Using stop frame animation these were turned into vibrant moving images which will hopefully be used as projected backdrops in the school production.
