Ski Trip Success

Students from SI return from the slopes...

Over half-term, thirty one students and five staff spent a week in the beautiful ski resort of Chamonix in France.

For the majority of the students it was the first time they had ever skied on snow, most having had just one session on the dry slopes in Dorchester.

A small group of experienced skiers got the opportunity to explore the whole valley and even practise their slalom skills.

By the end of the week the middle group had progressed to their first black run and the complete beginners had mastered the blue runs.

During the trip staff and students also got to visit the L'Aiguille du Midi observation point and look out over Mont Blanc, watch an ice-hockey match and try ice-skating for themselves.

At the end of the week everyone was presented with their ski badge from the ESF as well as some light-hearted personal awards.

Thank you to Miss Davison for organising the trip, the other staff for helping out with supervision and to the students for making the week enjoyable.

Bon ski!
