I/GCSE Exam Results Success

Sherborne International are delighted, once again, to have received a very pleasing set of I/GCSE results this summer.  Twelve percent of our students obtained at least 5 GCSEs at A/A* or number equivalents.  Top performers were Violet Peng, Maria Demidova and Cheryl Ho with nine top grades.  Abzal Amirbay was our best performing boy with seven top grades.

The Maths GCSE with the new syllabus and number grades has caused a lot of concern around the country, being harder than the old GCSE.  Our students excelled in this, with 95% at Level 4+ and 11% getting the new highest grade of 9.  This is almost four times higher than the UK average!

We are very pleased to note that, in our 1 Year I/GCSE course, we have averaged over 50% A*/A (or 7+ in the new number grades) in recent years.  This is a superb achievement in only nine months of study, being way ahead of the UK average of 22%.

Moreover, our IELTS results this year were at record-breaking level with 70% of our candidates gaining band 6 or above.

We wish all our departing students the very best as they move on to their future schools, which include Sherborne, Cheltenham Ladies, Epsom College and St Edward’s Oxford.  We look forward to welcoming back our current students and working with our new set of students in the coming year.
