Welcome to Sherborne International, a school that is world famous for the outstanding and unique learning environment it provides for international students. Each year, more than one hundred boys and girls from all over the world join the School as their first step towards a successful education in the United Kingdom.

The School was set up in 1977 in Sherborne, Dorset, a beautiful and historic town, which has been a centre of English education for nearly 500 years.  We use our in-depth understanding of the needs of international students to provide every child with a focussed academic, pastoral and cultural experience.

Sherborne International is a fully supportive, safe and caring community. Class size remains small, with a usual maximum of eight. Teachers in all subjects, are qualified or trained in English as a Foreign Language, which enables the most effective communication. Boarding staff are trained or qualified to meet the equally important pastoral needs of international students.

The school takes boys and girls aged between 11 and 17 and students usually stay for between one and two years. The school offers a wide range of qualifications up to I/GCSE level and all subjects are inspected and accredited by the British Council. As with all schools, Sherborne International is inspected by the Government.  In 2016 it was graded ‘Excellent’ (the top grade) in all areas of school life.

Please do look at our website, including the video below, and discover what has made Sherborne International such a special place in the hearts and minds of thousands of students from across the world.
