Christmas at Sherborne International
Christmas is always an exciting time at Sherborne International – here are just some of the activities we’ve held during the lead up to the end of Autumn Term in 2019
Christmas Card & Biscuits
The winner of the 2019 Sherborne International Christmas Card Competition was Jasmine in Year 10 and is being used by the School this Christmas.
We were also lucky to be treated to some Christmas biscuits by the boys who have been studying cooking each week after school with our Vice Principal, Mrs Hill.
Winchester Christmas Market
On Saturday 23rd November the students who had not chosen to be on exeat were taken on a trip to Winchester’s Christmas Market – a world-famous seasonal market held in the grounds of the beautiful Winchester Cathedral. Kun, on of our Junior students, took photographs of the trip.
Christmas Inter-House Talent Show
Saturday 30th November saw the 2019 Sherborne International Inter-House Talent Show. It was a fun filled evening, which was hosted and produced by the students, for the students. More photos and videos of the event by following this link
Girls’ Christmas Party
On Sunday 9th December we held our annual Christmas Party for the girls at Sherborne International.
Miss Davison, Assistant Housemistress, said “The lovely kitchen staff provided lots of cakes and sausage rolls. The housestaff made all sorts of goodies from paella to fruit crumble. The girls also had lots of nibbles like crisps and cheese straws. The chocolate fountain made its usual appearance and the dining hall had provided strawberries and bananas to dip into it.
“The main part of the party was taken up with ridiculous games designed to make the girls laugh at each other as much as possible. This ranged from stamping on balloons to wiping margarine on your nose. Then some of the girls tried eating smarties from a plate of flour when your face was wet.
“Thanks to everyone who took part in any way especially the girls who helped to set up and clear away afterwards. Kings House are looking forward to another great term next year.”
Christmas Carols & Chocolates
On Wednesday 11th December our Matron led a group of students around the School – to sing carols to the support staff in administration, housekeeping and catering – and present chocolates as a way to say thank you.
On the Thursday 12th December, just before the term ended, students and staff from Sherborne International gathered in the Greenfield Hall for their annual Christmas dinner.
End of Term Assembly
On Friday 13th December, students and staff from Sherborne International gathered in the Greenfield Hall for the End of Term assembly, where a joint rendition of ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ took place.
