Year 9 Trip to Bovington Tank Museum
Our Year 9 Students visit Bovington Tank Museum and Maiden Castle
On Friday 25th January, our Year 9 students visited The Tank Museum at Bovington in Dorset. The museum houses over 300 tanks, dramatically displayed in a huge building.
Students began the day by walking through a reconstructed First World War trench, learning about gas attacks and bunkers.
The highlight for most was probably the uniforms and weapons from WWI to the present day where students were able to try on the uniforms and handle the guns. We also used sources to find out about Hitler’s rise to power in the 1930s.
On the way home we went for a run around on Maiden Castle, one of the largest and most complex Iron Age hill forts in Europe.
