Sherborne International achieves new Award
Bronze Award achieved by Sherborne International’s Eco-Committee.
Sherborne International has been working on improving the environment in both the School and the local community, following the Green Flag scheme organised by Eco-Schools England.
This term the topic areas were biodiversity, water and waste; students have created an eco-credit award scheme, started a nature garden, made plans for food compost bins and a vegetable patch and taken initiatives to save water in School and boarding houses. We also had our first Meat Free Monday in October – in order to highlight the large environmental impact of producing the meat we eat, and we brought greenery to the School, by up-cycling tin cans into colourful flowerpots.
The hard work of our dedicated Eco-Committee, all of our students, and the staff over the last few months has led to Sherborne International achieving the Bronze Award from Eco-Schools England.
We’re all very proud of this achievement, and are looking forward to continuing the work in order to achieve the Silver Award.
