Curriculum Enrichment Week 2018 gets underway
At the end of every school year after completing exams, our students take part in Curriculum Enrichment Week (CEW). During the week, which runs from 14-20 June this year, students take part in a diverse range of activities that they may not otherwise get the opportunity to try.
These activities are designed to teach students new skills, build confidence, enhance team-building and allow them to socialise with their fellow students at the end of a busy year.
This year’s activities include circus skills, dance, team-building, meditation, ultimate frisbee, art and creative writing. Students will also go on a number of organised trips, including to Thorpe Park, IFly (indoor skydiving), Go Ape (outdoor adventure), Dorset Water Park and Go-Karting.
They will also have a day devoted to STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths), including working on puzzle solving, robotics and architecture.
The year 9 and 10 students will have a day to practice their skills at business planning through the young enterprise initiative while the Year 11 students consider the mechanism to get a place in a UK university. Their political acumen will be tested as we also host a Model United Nations.
